King’s College Chapel & Bush House London Wedding
A wedding with extremes of available light - super low inside the chapel of King’s College, London, and ever changing outside as the sun made its ‘in and out’ appearance behind stormy clouds.
I started my day with Amy and her bridesmaids in the vestry room inside King’s College before she made a very short stroll along the corridor of what seems like any University campus til you reach grand doors opening out onto a highly ornate hidden internal chapel.
My job as a photographer takes me to many architectural gems that otherwise I would never get to see, and this wedding was no exception. Who would have thought that deep behind the modern facade of King’s College, lies this homage to George Gilbert Scott’s (he of St Pancras Station and the Albert Memorial architectural fame) High Victorian gothic style.
After the ceremony (where I managed to access some less than sturdy narrow steps balancing on one leg in the choir to capture the shot above) everyone made the short walk to Bush House for the drinks on the 8th floor terrace with its surround views of the City.
