Alice and Manji (with their baby Oto) wed at at Merton Registry Office at Morden Park House in late summer. Everything about this wedding was completely relaxed with the brief to shoot naturally and candidly capturing moments as they unfolded in front of me - the ceremony with close family and friends, a walk to the bus stop and a bus ride and leisurely walk in the early September sunshine through the park to their riverside pub reception and party.
Many families with babies and young children at this wedding, Manji’s parents who made the special journey to be there from Japan, and many many friends from the Arts world, Alice and Manji both being artists themselves. A fabulous wedding and a wonderful one to have the privilege to tell the story of in pictures.
Alice’s father meets Manji’s parents for the first time with their grandson, baby Oto the central bond between them.
I’m always looking for little moments of connection as well as making pictures of the key moments. Alice steals a look to her mother and grandmother during the signing of the register.
At the bus stop where Alice’s shoes were giving her a bit of gyp and one of the teenage guests offered to swap so she could walk through the park in ease.
