Tuition Sharing my learning

Photography Tuition - what I can bring to you

Whether on a high-spec camera, a compact or a smartphone, do you find taking photographs helps you switch off from life’s pressures? Would you like to improve your picture-taking, learn how to select, edit, enhance, archive and get your best images into print?  Are you studying photography at school and need some extra help or an advanced amateur thinking of switching careers?

My own photography journey started about 15 years ago with a very basic manual film camera, learning the fundamentals - and from my mistakes.

Even if you simply take snaps on your smartphone and are happy with that, there are some simple but transformative ways I can help you take more successful pictures. In just one session my aim will be to arm and inspire you.

Over the years I have taught many age groups - within schools at primary level, with older children and teenagers taking GCSE and A-Level, in further education colleges, prisons, with individual adult hobbyists and more advanced amateurs looking for help to set up professionally.

Some areas of photography I can help you with:

Story-telling & Projects

We can learn how to make a strong photographic record of an event or a relationship and to build a story or record over time. The pictures below are of my daughter and my mother on a short trip between lockdowns to ‘take Nann to look at the sea’.
