Event Photography for Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

“Thank you for putting so much effort into the shoot. We were very happy working with you and extremely impressed with the way you handled the public and represented the RHS at this event. You worked so hard at interpreting the brief with so many unusual photos, unlike any others we’ve ever had from the shows before.”

Luck was in store for Wisley and me for these preplanned photography days at the RHS annual Hampton Court Flower Show. The last time they had commissioned some photography the rain had come, and stayed, for every day of the show.

Bright sunshine has its challenges for us photographers but I had a wonderful time and brief, working partly to a shot list created by the marketing team which included some pictures of the show gardens (every bit as inspiring and slick as anything I've seen at Chelsea), and partly to my own agenda with a brief to capture very naturally the story and spirit of the show - what a treat.

I absolutely love shooting events especially when they involve the Great British Public doing what the Great British Public love to do - be out in the sunshine, looking and gardens, drooling and obsessing over plants, queuing and general being very British!

And I hadn’t realised how many different things apart from gardening are going on at this show. More like a festival.
